The Browser as Instrument: Creative Tools, Live Coding, and Culture

Coding is more than just a way to provide shareholder value, it's a powerful skill for creative expression. The ubiquity of the browser makes it a great platform for building accessible tools to unlock that creativity. In this talk I'll give an overview of the browser-based creative tools I use in my personal art practice (including some that I've built myself), introduce the concept of writing code on-the-fly as a performance, and highlight the community that emerges when people with these shared interests find each other.
